My English Game Box (Take Shape 2)

DESCRIPTION

It is a small box made and decorated by students. It is divided into two parts inside to put some cards with descriptions, definitions, and questions in one part; words, and images will be in the other side as responses. All this using the vocabulary and grammar related to units 1 , 2 and 3.

By the end of the project students will have a nice box with minimum 60 cards for them to play.


This box can be used as a game to strengthen and review as we finish each unit.
MAIN AIMS




Provide an attractive engaging written and visual record of the target vocabulary, which will naturally draw and keep the children´s attention.

Encourage independent learning in an enjoyable context.

Provides an opportunity for the children to use their natural creativity in a craft project.


PROJECT STEPS


1. Talk to students about the project and motivate them to Develop it step by step and give it the Importance and use it is meant to be.

2. Make the box. Look at the link with suggestions. (finishing  the decoration can be  homework  to optimize time).

3. At the end of each unit the teacher will choose the relevant  vocabulary and / or grammar for the cards.  (10 at least per unit.  Decoration can be the homework).

4. Each time a set of cards are done; let students  play in pairs or in groups, in order to practice and as motivation.  See the games and activities recommended.   (The teacher could adapt those activities depending on the specific needs).

5.  Suggest the students to take the game to their houses and keep them in order to play with the cards sometimes.  And also tell them that they have the freedom to recycle the language they choose for the rest of the year.
