I’m home!
Covers: Get ready, unit 1 and 2.

Description of the project

We find different kinds of people surrounding us everywhere we go but most of the times we don’t know anything about their lifestyles or homes.  

This project has the intention of making students research and write their findings about different lifestyles and homes, using the English language as a way to report their knowledge.

This project expects students to develop researching abilities, speaking and writing skills by describing lifestyles and homes.

Main aim:

- By the end of the project, students will be able to talk about different ways of living using related vocabulary.

Secondary aims:

At the end of the project students will

- have practiced describing various aspects of a lifestyle, such as traditions, identities, interests, free-time activities, habits and home.

- build vocabulary about lifestyles and housing.

- practice scanning for information and writing descriptive texts.

Project Steps


1. Pick a room of your house. It could be your favorite room, or your least favorite one.
2. Open a document a file where you are going to keep all your progress on the project.
2. Write about it, describing every part of the room on the first paragraph.
3. Research on the internet about ideas to improve a room.
4. In the second paragraph write down about the parts of your room that needs improvement. Describe them and then write about how you would improve them.
5. On a third paragraph, describe how your new room will help you have a better lifestyle.
6. Look for videos about how to make furniture and appliances crafts.


7. Start working on your new room craft and present it to the class along with the essay.
