Description of the project

Celebrities are always on the spotlight of interest and are part of common knowledge. In order to research about lifestyles, we are taking advantage of show business and researching on how the famous live.  

This project has the intention of making students research and write their findings about different lifestyles, using the English language as way to report their knowledge.

This project expects students to develop researching abilities and writing skills by describing the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

Main aim:

- By the end of the project, students will be able to talk about the life of their favorite celebrities using related vocabulary.

Subsidiary aims:

- At the end of the project students will have practiced describing various aspects of a lifestyle, such as identities, preferences, diet and home.

-  Students will build vocabulary about lifestyle and housing, and how to create a magazine article.

-  Students will practice scanning for information and writing descriptive texts.

Lifestyle Project
Objective: To create an article for a magazine describing a celebrity's lifestyle.

Project Steps



1. Pick a celebrity of your preference.
2. Open a document a file where you are going to keep all your progress on the project.
2. Collect basic information on her: date of birth, nationality, education and family. Then, create an introductory paragraph containing this information.
3. Research on the works or productions where the celebrity was in and write a second paragraph where you describe how she became famous.
4. Explain the celebrity's diet in a third paragraph by describing what she eats, where she likes to eat and why. Keep in mind to give detail what is on what the celebrity looks for when eating: a healthy diet, a balance or pleasing cravings. Include if the she does exercise or not, or if she has a hobby.
5. Detail the celebrity's home for the fourth paragraph. Include a small description of the neighborhood where she lives, what type of home it is, how are some rooms, the luxuries she has, advantages and disadvantages of living there.
6. In the fifth paragraph, report how the celebrity handles her daily chores and what she needs to keep the house clean.
7. Give your personal thoughts on the celebrity's lifestyle including what you admire, like or dislike of her lifestyle and if she is a model to follow or not.
8. Set out a magazine layout for your article including a nice design and pictures, then present it to the class.
