SHOW AND
TALK
1)
Ask
children to hold up their finished photo albums and present them to the class.
Get them started by pointing to various photos and asking questions such as: Is
this you? Who is this? Who are these people?
Make sure kids answer in complete sentences and use the correct words to
identify their family members.
2)
Invite
children to exchange albums with a partner. Encourage dialogues by modeling the
following questions and answers:
A: What is your (brother) doing?
B: (He) is (watching TV).
A: Where is your (mother)?
B: (She) is in the (kitchen).
EXTEND THE
PROJECT
Teach
children the English names for others family members such as grandmother, grandfather, cousin, aunt, and uncle by showing photos of your own family
members or using pictures from magazines.
Children
may have photos of such members of their own families that they would like to
share with the class. Help them to identify these relatives in English.
HOME-SCHOOL CONNECTION
Encourage
children to take their finished project home. Ask them to show their family their projects and to use English to talk about them.
